Check where asuspicious video came from.
Investment ads, marketplace sellers, rental listings and 'celebrity' endorsements often reuse footage taken from somewhere else. Drop the video and we show every other page carrying the same frames — so you can see if it was lifted. $0.90 a search.
- Works on ads, seller videos, property tours and testimonials.
- Footage found elsewhere under another name or context is a red flag.
- We show where it appears; the judgement stays yours.

Reused footage is the tell.
Save the video
Screen-record the ad, download the seller's video, or save the tour you were sent.
We search everywhere it appears
Distinct frames are searched in Google's web image index: other ads, other listings, news reports, the original creator's channel.
Compare the contexts
If the same 'apartment' is listed in another city, or the 'expert' is an interview from years ago, you have your answer.

The scan is free. If the footage exists elsewhere, the match count says so before you pay.
Check a video free →Can Retrace tell me if something is a scam?
No — and be wary of any tool that claims to. What we show is where else the same footage appears. A seller's video found in an old listing in another country, or an 'investment expert' who turns out to be a TV interview, is strong evidence; the decision is yours.
Can it detect deepfakes or AI-generated video?
No. We do not analyse whether a video is synthetic. We can, however, often find the real footage a fake was built from, which is useful in itself.
No matches — does that mean it is genuine?
No. It means the footage is not in Google's web index. Original footage filmed for a scam will not match anything, so a clean result is not a guarantee.
What kind of scams does this help with?
Ones built on borrowed footage: rental and holiday listings, marketplace sellers showing a product they do not own, fake investment ads using news clips or celebrities, and romance profiles using someone else's videos.
Is my video kept?
The uploaded file is deleted 60 minutes after the scan. A search made without an account is deleted after 30 days.
